End of Day 1 - In which Raj is tired, wired, a little perplexed

... but overall quite happy. Things went pretty well, 'tho I only got a couple hours in. Major accomplishments included messing around with the theme, making a couple of primary links, writing Page 1, and getting a couple silly sayings into the title and mission.

Just as exciting was watching SVN work like a charm and figuring out how to get my local database over to the public site... Remain confounded with generating the dump from the command line. Try as I might "mysql -root raj_digthis > raj_digthis.sql" did not work. It just hung every time - and I gave it plenty of time. It did create the file, but 0 bytes.... hmmm.

So I installed phpMyAdmin, thank you Ubuntu Synaptic, and it was clear sailing. Opting not to use SVN to toss the DB back and forth, it took a little getting used to the usage description for scp. Seems like my eyes just glossed over the ":" between server and file name. But I got got there.

Of course I forgot up clean up the system table pathing and so when I excitedly navigated to the site there was no theme. Just my single little Page 1 post. Fixed that real fast - HA! - but lo and behold, my site title is appearing twice and of course my new logo is not there.

Related ? Maybe, but I gotta go to bed now.
